LAYANA FRÉMAUX-SOORMALLY

WALKS TO LOCAL FOREST

WALTHAM FOREST THORPE HALL PRIMARY SCHOOL NURSERY

Wednesday  18th November 2015

Ms Chavardes

Mrs Boon

Mrs Randall

And adult helpers

This presentation has been made possible painstakingly with the three sisters working as a team, Jumaymah, Aïshah and Layana Frémaux-Soormally, under the close and strict supervision of their one and only Dada Basheer, their loving paternal Grandfather.

A big thank you to the staff who allowed our Dada to accompany Layana on that walk in the local forest.  The weather was excellent and the children had a lot of fun. We hope you all will like it as well as their Dadi Kaamilah (Grandmother Kathaleen Bates) who lives in Pennsylvania in the U.S.A.

Signs of Autumn

In the forest my imagination ran wild.
I imagined seeing wild animals like giraffes.
I even touched one.
And how cuddly the lion was!

But, was there really a monkey?
The teacher had asked us to use our imagination, and I did so!
Watch out for the bear, I screamed, when I passed by the trunk of a huge tree!
But, nobody heard me!
Maybe there was no bear at all as nobody seemed to have seen it!
We walked in the mud, and it was very slippery!
Indeed, very muddy and very slippery!

After collecting dead leaves, we slowly left the muddy path.

 Splendid souvenirs!
But, we were still very careful, and looked carefully where we put our feet!

Miss Chavardes took pictures all along.
Now, we are nearly out in the open.
Everybody seems happy and not tired at all!
No more mud, thank God!
And, now, the real fun will start!
Everybody seems very happy and playful.

Then, we played football on the grass, and enjoyed it greatly.
It was great fun with
Miss Chavardes, Mrs Boon and Mrs Randall.
Grass is more fun than mud, isn't it?
 And, the view was splendid!

 But ...

I seem to remember the teacher speaking about a bear hunt.
Others must have seen the bear too!  I cannot be the only one!
The picture of a panda was in my mind all the time!
But, now, I was wondering how the forest would look like in the snow.
Was that monkey reading my mind when I was thinking of winter?
It took me a moment to come back to Autumn! But, my imagination stopped at Spring! And, everything was so beautiful!
Were we not all imagining seeing also so many animals?
I am sure I was not the only one!
It was like in a dream!
Everything was so colourful.  A real Garden of Eden!
I even felt a lion breathing in my neck, and I was not afraid!
Nobody was afraid of the lion!
Not even of the big wild cat!

I could even hear the sound of a waterfall, and see a golden fish jumping out of the water.
 This made me feel sleepy!
I think it is time for me to come back to reality!  It was great fun, but everything has an end.

On our way back.  All is well that ends well.
   Back to Nursery!

A big thank you to the staff and helpers and to IMIKIMI who made the trip so beautiful and a real dream with its splendid artwork.

THIS WAS TO BE THE FIRST AND LAST TIME MY DADA WOULD ACCOMPANY ME ON A SCHOOL TRIP AS HE WAS HENCEFORTH BANNED FROM SEEING ANY ONE OF HIS THREE GRAND CHILDREN AT SCHOOL, AND EVEN AT HOME!  OTHERS NOT BEARING HIS NAME HAD KIDNAPPED US AND REPLACED HIM!
THE DEVIL'S WORK!

 DADA, MY GRANDFATHER
BASHEER AHMAD FRÉMAUX-SOORMALLY
