Having said that the Classical Qur'aanic Arabic is indeed "MAGIC" and when a Muslim does not know Arabic, he misses out most of what is really good and sublime in Islam.

A LESSON FOR MUSLIMS!
Surah Al-Fatiha, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas, Ayat Al-Kursi & Du'a
N.B. I wanted to remove the following two quotes (which may even not be authentic!) as this always leads to a misunderstanding regarding the MERCY of God and the whole PURPOSE of belief in God! But, I am leaving it with this WARNING! Muslims do not make the necessary efforts to achieve success in this world or to be creative, and too often rely on such invocations, which if understood literally is utter nonsense! - BAFS)
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas and the two last Surahs of the Qur'an (Al-Falaq and An-Nas), in the morning and evening three times, and it will suffice you for everything . [Abu Dawood and al-Tirmizi]
Abu Umaamah (RA) narrated that:
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
"Whoever reads "Ayatul-Kursi" [Qur'an 2:255], after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death (i.e. that he is still alive)."
(An-Nasaa'ee, Ibn Hibbaan -- Sahih)

Duaa translated to English:
O Allah! we testify that none has the right to be worshipped except You
The One and Only Deity and Lord,
The Unequalled, The Eternal.
He who begets not, nor is He begotten,
and there is none like unto Him.
There is no god except Allah, The Magnificent, The Most Serene.
There is no god except Allah, the Lord of the Great Throne.
There is no god except Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Great Throne.
O Ever-Living One, O Self-Existing One,
O Lord of Majesty and Generosity
O Incomparable Creator of the Heavens and the Earth,
O Allah! You hear us and You see us.
and you are aware of what we do secretly and openly.
O our Lord, our protector, and our Master,
Honoured is he who is in Your Protection, Your Praise-worthiness is Most Exalted
(Grand be Your praise) and Sacred be Your names,
and there is no god but You.
O Fulfiller/answerer of prayers,
O Fulfiller of wishes,
O our Saviour in times of grief,
O Allah! we beseech You by Your beautiful Names and magnificent Attributes,
O Allah! we beseech you by the Greatest of Your names,
by which you respond to the one who calls upon You,
and grant them what they ask for.
O Allah! Let our bodies be prohibited to the Fire (of hell).
O Allah! save us from the fire.
O Allah! Let our bodies be prohibited to the Fire
with Your mercy, O Most Merciful!
O Allah! We ask You for Paradise and what brings us close to it from speech or deeds,
and we seek refuge with You from the Fire and what brings us
close to it from speech or deeds
with Your mercy, Your benevolence, Your generosity, and Your bounty.
O Openhanded one, O Most Generous!
O Allah! O hearer of prayers!
O possessor of grace and bounty!
O Allah! let not any of our sins go unforgiven, nor an illness unhealed, or a handicapped without relief.
We ask You to guide those who are confused and have
gone astray.
O Allah! make marrige easy for those who are unmarried.
O Allah, have mercy on our dead.
O Allah by Your mercy! Make things easy for us and help
us do anything that pleases You and is good for us in
this world and the hereafter, O the most Merciful.
O Turner of the Hearts, keep our Hearts firm on Your Religion,
O openhanded one, O Most generous.
Oh Allah, you are the best forgiver, beneficent and merciful.
You love forgiveness so forgive us.
O Allah, accept our fasting, and accept our worship (prayers).
O Allah, forgive our shortcomings, by your mercy, O Most Merciful!
O Lord of Jibreel, Mikaeel and Israfeel.
O Creator of the heavens and the earth,
Knower of the unseen and the seen.
You are the Judge of the matters in which Your servants differ.
Guide us with regard to disputed matters of Truth by Your permission, for You guide whomever You will to the Straight Path.
Oh Allah, we are Your servants, the sons of Your servants,
the sons of Your maid-servants,
You hold us by our forelocks. Your Decree is what controls us,
and Your Commands to us are just.
We beseech You by every one of Your Names, those which You use to refer to Yourself, or have revealed in Your Book,
or have taught to any one of Your creation, or have chosen to keep hidden with You in the Unseen,
to make the Noble Qur’an the springtime of our hearts, the light within our chests, and the vanishing of our affliction and our sorrow.
And admit us to Your gardens, the gardens of bliss (Paradise).
O Allah, make it an argument for us (The Qur'an) on the Day of judgement, by your mercy, O Most Merciful!
O Allah! We ask You everything that is good, in this world and the Hereafter, whether we Know it or not;
and we seek your protection from everything that is bad, in this world and the Hereafter, whether we Know it or not.

ADDENDUM [BAFS]
At-Tirmidhi (2167) narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah will not cause my ummah to agree on falsehood; the hand of Allah is with the jamaa‘ah (the main body of the Muslims).” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani.
The meaning of this hadith is that Allah has protected the scholars of the ummah of Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) from unanimously agreeing upon something false.
This protection is only for all the scholars of the ummah during any given period. As for the agreement of some of them or most of them on something, that is not protected from error.
Similarly, if the common folk are agreed on some matter, that does not indicate that it is true, because what matters here is the scholars, not the common folk or the ignorant.
Abu ‘Eesa at-Tirmidhi said in his Sunan: What is meant by the jamaa‘ah (the main body of the Muslims), according to the scholars, is the scholars of fiqh, knowledge and hadith.
Al-Mulla ‘Ali al-Qaari said: The hadith indicates that if the Muslims unanimously agree on something, then it must be true, and what is meant is the unanimous agreement of the scholars. The consensus of the common folk does not carry any weight, because it is not based on knowledge.
End quote from Mirqaat al-Mafaateeh (2/61)
Ash-Shaatibi said: There is no difference of opinion concerning the fact that the agreement of the common folk is of no significance.
End quote from al-I‘tisaam (1/354)
The fact that there are many who follow one of the jamaa‘ahs, groups or sects is not an indication that they are following truth. The Christians are greater in number than the Muslims, and the followers of innovation and misguidance are more numerous than Ahl as-Sunnah in some countries, but does that mean that they are following truth?!
Abu Shaamah al-Maqdisi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When there is a command to adhere to the jamaa‘ah (the main body of the Muslims), what is meant is adhering to the truth and following it, even if those who adhere to the truth are few and those who go against it are many, because the truth is that which is followed by the early group, the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), and no attention should be paid to the large numbers of those who followed falsehood after their time.
End quote from al-Baa‘ith ‘ala Inkaar al-Bida‘ wa’l-Hawaadith (p. 22)
One of the ways in which Allah deals with His creation is that the followers of truth are few in comparison to the followers of falsehood. Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly”
[Yoosuf 12:103]
“Verily, it is the truth from your Lord, but most of mankind believe not”
[Hood 11:17]
“And if you obey most of those on earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah’s Path”
[al-An‘aam 6:116].
Shaykh as-Sa‘di said: This verse indicates that the number of followers is no indicator of truth, and that scarcity of followers does not signal that something is not truth. Rather reality is something other than that, for the people of truth are the fewest in number, but are the greatest in esteem and reward before Allah. Rather we must determine what is true and what is false on the basis of proof and evidence.
End quote from Tafseer as-Sa‘di (1/270)
So what is true and right is known from its being in accordance with the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and with what the early generations of this ummah were agreed upon, not from large numbers of those who say it.
Al-Fudayl ibn ‘Iyaad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Adhere to the path of guidance, and do not be affected by the small numbers of those who follow the path. Beware of the paths of misguidance, and do not be deceived by the large numbers of those who are doomed (by following them).
End quote. See: al-Adhkaar by an-Nawawi (p. 221); al-I‘tisaam by ash-Shaatibi (1/83)
